Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

May 15, 2012

If you're looking for some good, hold-your-interest nonfiction, this is it. It's all about how success has less to do with sheer independent grit and determination and more to do with certain uncontrollable factors...like what month you were born in, what year you were born in, where you live, etc. It makes me a little paranoid thinking about what I've done to my children by giving them birthdays in July and March. It also made me a little sad to realize just how many people there are in the world who will never reach their full potential, simply because they weren't provided with the "perfect" opportunity.
